Welcome to "The Whole Megillah" Thank you for joining My Jewish Learning to dive deep into the five scrolls of the Bible, each called a Megillah. These books — Ecclesiastes, Esther, Song of Songs, Ruth, and Lamentations — are each publicly read in synagogue on a Jewish holiday: Sukkot, Purim, Passover, Shavuot, and Tisha B'Av, respectively. Get to Know Each Megillah The Book of Esther, or Megillat Esther, is probably the most well-known megillah out of the five. Take a quick look at the stories in each megillah that Jews read throughout the year.
Stay tuned before each of these holidays for your in-depth look at its corresponding Megillah.
